FAQ

Common questions about how 19-0 works, answered straight.

Getting started

What is 19-0?

19-0 is a free cricket draft-and-simulation game. You spin together a squad of real players from any era, pick your XI, and simulate a full campaign: matches, form swings, off-pitch drama, and a season review at the end.

Is it actually free?

Yes. The whole game is free to play, with no paywalls or loot boxes. Ads help cover hosting costs.

Do I need an account to play?

No. You can play a full run without signing up, and your progress saves locally in your browser. Creating a free account lets you resume a saved run later and appear on the leaderboard.

Can I play on desktop, or is it mobile only?

It works on both, but it's built mobile-first for quick, one-handed sessions: spin a squad, pick an XI, simulate the match.

Modes

What's the difference between T20 Blast, Test Cricket, and World Cup mode?

T20 Blast has you draft across all 18 counties and any year of Blast history, then play 16 group games plus Finals Day: 19 wins in a row takes the title. Test Cricket restricts your draft to England players across history, then runs a full World Test Championship cycle including a five-match Ashes. World Cup lets you draft from any nation and era, then plays a straight knockout-style tournament: group stage, Super Sixes, semis, final.

How does drafting work?

You spin instead of pick from a list. Each spin lands on a real player tied to a specific county, nation, or era, and you build your squad one spin at a time before selecting your matchday XI.

What's the difference between Easy, Medium, and Hard difficulty?

It controls how many times you can re-spin a slot during the draft. Easy gives unlimited re-spins, Medium gives you 3 re-spins for the whole draft, and Hard gives you none, so whoever you spin is who you're stuck with.

What does "Rating mode: By Year" vs "Prime" mean?

By Year rates a player exactly as they were in the specific season your spin lands on, so an ageing legend in a poor year is rated accordingly. Prime always rates them at their career-best, regardless of which year you spin.

What is Budget mode?

It caps your whole squad spend at a fixed amount, so you can't just fill every slot with the highest-rated player available. It forces trade-offs, which is closer to how a real selector has to think.

During a run

How do player ratings and form change during a season?

Runs and wickets push a player's form up, poor performances drag it down, and it keeps shifting match to match. It's on you to manage your XI around who's in form, not just who was rated highest at the draft.

What are the off-pitch events?

Random events, injuries, tabloid storms, dressing-room bust-ups, can land on your squad at any point in a Test campaign. How you handle each one affects the squad going forward, not just the scoreboard.

In World Cup mode, which nation do I actually represent?

Whichever nation has the most players in your squad once the draft is done. If your spins land you a squad stacked with one country's players, that's the side you take into the tournament.

How does the leaderboard work?

Signing in tracks your stats and ranks your best runs against other players across every mode you've played.

About the project

Is 19-0 affiliated with the ECB, ICC, or any real team?

No. 19-0 is an unofficial fan project. Player names, team names, and match simulations are used for entertainment purposes only.

Who built this?

One cricket fan, as a side project that grew into something bigger. More on why it exists on the About page.
